Asterix & Obelix: The Return of Classic Heroes in an All-New Animated Series on Netflix

A new animated series featuring beloved characters is on its way to Netflix, set to premiere this April. With various projects related to these iconic characters presently in the works, enthusiasts can anticipate fresh content spanning video games, books, television, and film.

This upcoming series, titled Asterix & Obelix: The Big Fight, focuses on the escapades of the two heroes as they defend their village from the Roman Empire's advances. This French-language production is helmed by Alain Chabat, renowned for his work on the 2002 live-action adaptation. In this series, Chabat takes on the director's role, collaborating with Fabrice Joubert, while Benoît Ouillion and Piano handle the screenplay.

The narrative is rooted in the classic comics created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, drawing heavily from their seventh volumetric installment. Specifically, the 1964 comic known as The Battle of the Chieftains serves as a significant source of inspiration for the storyline.

With Asterix & Obelix: The Big Fight premiering on Netflix on April 30, viewers can get a glimpse of the series through its latest trailer and a brief synopsis.

In the first millennium, Rome aims to conquer the last free village in Gaul, which is home to Astérix and Obélix. The key to the Gauls' military might lies in a magical potion. However, things take a turn when the potion master suffers from memory loss, abandoning the villagers to manage on their own against the formidable Roman forces.
