Since its initial Kickstarter launch in 2015, Little Devil Inside has faced a challenging journey to completion, encountering multiple delays along the way. However, after a lengthy period without updates, a new gameplay trailer has finally surfaced, bringing with it news from the developers at Neostream regarding the current status of the game and their team.
Neostream shared that over time, there have been changes in their staffing, with some members departing the company. Despite this, the studio emphasizes that the original core team that embarked on this project remains intact and dedicated to delivering an exceptional game. The developers reflected on their experiences with past team members, acknowledging both the inspiration and discord that have come from differing visions and goals. They expressed regret over any inability to reconcile these differences and extended their apologies to their supporters.
With a renewed focus, Neostream's smaller, cohesive team is united by the common goal of achieving the vision they originally set out with. They conveyed a sense of accountability for the project's delays and communication lapses, but also a renewed strength stemming from their extended development period.
The studio also revealed that they have made significant progress, including transitioning the game's development to the Unreal Engine 5, which was evidenced in the newly released gameplay footage. Furthermore, Neostream has begun serious talks with potential publishers, suggesting that the path to finishing and releasing Little Devil Inside is becoming clearer.
Targeted for release on PS5, PS4, and PC, the precise launch date for Little Devil Inside remains uncertain, but the latest updates provide a hopeful outlook for eagerly waiting fans.
