Apple reveals a new dramatic production set to air on its streaming service, continuing its string of upcoming original shows. The company has steadily offered glimpses of its future projects, building excitement among viewers with a variety of stories that blend mystery and real-life inspiration.

Following the recent introductions of productions like May’s Murderbot, Fountain of Youth, and June’s Stick, Apple now presents its latest venture. This series, titled Smoke, revolves around a duo—one investigator with a troubled past and another with a distinct specialty in arson—who combine their efforts to track down a pair of habitual arson perpetrators. The storyline draws on actual events and was developed under the creative guidance of Dennis Lehane.

Set to premiere on June 27 with an initial two-episode launch, the series will continue to release subsequent episodes on a weekly basis until August 8. In addition to the premiere, viewers can expect further promotional material approximately one month in advance, likely arriving in May, which will include a trailer and select stills from the show.

The production features a notable ensemble cast, including:

  • Taron Egerton – playing the determined arson investigator
  • Jurnee Smollett – portraying the seasoned detective
  • Rafe Spall
  • Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine
  • Hannah Emily Anderson
  • Anna Chlumsky
  • Adina Porter
  • Greg Kinnear
  • John Leguizamo

The official description for Smoke summarizes a narrative inspired by real-life cases, following the complex paths of a troubled detective and an enigmatic investigator as they track the methods of two recurring arson offenders. This engaging storyline combines elements of suspense and genuine investigative challenges, promising a captivating viewing experience.
